The Department of Microbiology is among the premier departments in RUHS and started functioning in 2014. Microbiology department of RUHS has three unique domains i.e. Academics, Research and Patient care, is a multidisciplinary unit offering quality diagnostic services in Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Serology, Immunology, Parasitology and Mycobacteriology Section. The laboratory facilities include state of the art Automated Blood Culture, ELISA, Fungus culture and various conventional microbiological tools for diagnostic services.
Teaching along with practical, seminars, tutorial, projects, conduction of Exams etc. are an integral part of the departmental academic activity. Post Graduate courses are conducted for the award of M.Sc. (Med) degree in Microbiology. The department offers excellent opportunities for research in infectious diseases. Training and educational events are organized in the form of workshops and CMEs in diverse topics. The department is making an all round effort to provide newer diagnostic services for better patient care, and a congenial environment for research and innovation.
